Tarleton-Central Texas announces student research symposium winners

KILLEEN–Tarleton State University-Central Texas had four student winners at the Texas A&M 6th Annual Pathways Student Research Symposium, held November 7-8 at Texas A&M University-Commerce. Undergraduate, master’s and doctoral students from nine Texas A&M University System institutions participated in the competition.

Individually, awards are given to the top presentations in each of three categories. These categories include poster presentations from undergraduate and graduate students.

In the Business & CIS Master’s category, Carlos Sepulveda placed first. His research project was “A Model Predicting Intention to Enroll in Higher Education: An Analysis of the Factors Impacting Retention among Undergraduate and Graduate Students at Tarleton State University-Central Texas.”

In the Business & CIS Undergraduate category, Laura Bruneau, Amber Parris and Keri McGregor placed second with their research project, “A Statistical Model of the Predictors of Performance Excellence in City Management.”

Dr. Laura Matherly, Tarleton-Central Texas Assistant Professor of Management, Marketing and Administrative Systems, was the faculty mentor for all the winners. They will all be recognized at a reception at Tarleton-Central Texas on December 4.
