Judging team finishes in top 10 at San Antonio

STEPHENVILLE, TEXAS—Tarleton State University’s livestock judging team recently placed sixth overall and third in cattle at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo in San Antonio. The contest was held Feb. 21, with the awards ceremony held Feb. 22.

Individually for the team, Jacob Lange of Miles, Texas, was high point in cattle, third in hogs, fourth in reasons and fourth overall. Also placing the top 10 in a division was Stephen Roop of Grapevine, Texas, who finished eighth in cattle.

Including Miles and Roop, other team members include Lucas Barnett of Copperas Cove, Texas, Kyle Carpenter of Glen Rose, Texas, Allison Skeels of Boerne, Texas, and Seth Hammermeister of West, Texas.

The team is coached by Jared Jackson and Jeff Jackson serves as the graduate assistant coach.

The next contest for Tarleton’s judging team will be the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo on March 18.
